Jeff and Barbara, his wife, were born and grew up in East Liverpool, Ohio.  They graduated from Bethany College and worked in various local congregations and served as curators of the Campbell Mansion while attending Bethany.  Jeff received his M.Div. from Candler School of Theology, Emory University, and his D.Min. from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.

He has served several congregations in Ohio, First Christian Church in Uhrichsville, Bazetta Christian Church in Cortland and most recently, Northwest Christian Church in Upper Arlington from where he recently retired.  He has been in many leadership positions in the Christian Church in Ohio and has served as a counselor and director at Camp Christian.  He is a fifth generation Buckeye Disciple and strongly ecumenical in his theology and ministerial practice.

Jeff and Barbara have three grown children, Jonathan (Allison), Mary (Adam Van Boxel), and Jack (Matthew), and four grandchildren- Alex and Cora residing in Mentor, and Josephine and Benjamin living in Paris, France.

Jeff enjoys reading, gardening and landscape design in his spare time.  He and Barbara, who recently retired as an elementary school teacher, live on the border of Mentor and Willoughby and enjoy walking in our beautiful Lake Metro parks with their chocolate Lab, Baylee Boo.

Quoting Cicero, “If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.”  To that, he would add “family and church!”
