This morning, I lay in bed listening to the birds and people moving around and thinking (worrying) about what today would bring, when all of a sudden, my phone dinged with an incoming message. Of course, since it was early, my first thought was ---- and so it starts. But God had a surprise for me, a message from a dear friend saying, “thought someone might need this”:
“Come to Me, and rest in My loving Presence. You know that this day will bring difficulties, and you are trying to think your way through those trials. As you anticipate what is ahead of you, you forget that I am with you---now and always. Rehearsing your troubles results in experiencing them many times, whereas you are meant to go through them only when they actually occur. Do not multiply your suffering in this way! Instead, come to Me, relax in My peace. I will strengthen you and prepare you for this day, transforming your fear into confident trust.” (Matthew 11:28-30; Joshua 1:5,9)
What an unexpected gift from God through a friend. Friends really are our Everyday Miracles. A true friend brightens your day, lifts your hearts, and helps you be more than you think you can be. Love your friends and recognize them as a gift from God, then be that gift to them!
May your life be filled with everyday miracles.
